7 am. Back on the road. Parking lot and side roads are bad but I-80 is clear. It doesn’t look like we got any new snow last night.
Feel bad for this trucker! We have seen a couple of accidents but nothing major.
Over pass near North Platte, NE. So pretty.
We have stopped for the night in Shelby Iowa. It’s absolutely freezing here. Won’t be getting out of the truck tonight!
Getting up early so turning in. Still have over 1100 miles to go in the next couple of days. Goodnight y’all.
DG: A few minutes after Annie posted that picture of the temp it is one degree colder on both scales.
The wind cuts right through everything you have on. We have both heaters on. One is like a kerosene heater that uses the fuel from the truck but only about 12 oz in a 10 hour period. And then the idle management system that starts and stops the engine via a thermostat in the bunk. And we will be huddled under our quilt.
I took a picture of Cabela’s world headquarters coming through Sydney, NE. We spent the night close to here on our way to California.
One more day under our belt. Two more to receiver. That will complete a 2800 mile trip from coast to coast. I still marvel at the beauty of this great nation. Perhaps soon we will get to see some new places.
Good night and God bless.
