Day 139, June 15, 2015 Ashland, Kentucky

Its early and Greg is already asleep.   Truck has to leave at 4 am to get to West Chester, Ohio by 7 am and then on to Dallas.

Got the truck completely loaded today so it’s ready to go.   Got a small storage shed for most of the boxes of stuff we had in moms garage.

Guess I’m going to have to get back in the swing of things and go to bed early too.

Goodnight y’all

Day 138, June 14, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Ohio, Ashland

Short and sweet today because we have been so busy.   Spent most of the day cleaning new teuck and getting all of our stuff in there and finding out where it’s all going to go.   Then went to dinner with Paul and his family at Roadhouse which was nice.   We all ate until we about popped.   Then went to Walmart to get a few things we needed.   Then went to old house to check on things and then home.  Greg fell asleep on the couch.   I’m not far behind.

Back on the road tomorrow!

Goodnight y’all.

Day 137 June 13, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Illinois, Ohio

DG:  I’m right outside of Columbus, OH and I can already feel the humidity. Did I acclimate that fast to the dryness of the desert climes?  May be.

Well I just pulled into the dock about five minutes ago, I have a trailer that’s about two thirds full so this shouldn’t take long once they get started.

Time to kick back and rest for my next trip-home to get my baby.

Annie – Woo Hoo!!

Ok.  Now I’m mad.  Just got a call from Greg that said his time ran out and he can’t get back on the road until midnight.  He is 90 freaking miles away!!!!

DG:  Thank you government regulators. DOT, gotta love ’em.  Well, I’m back. Got my baby.  That’s all I need.

Good night and God bless.

Day 136 June 12, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Illinois

DG:  Made it to appointment 45 minutes early. They sent me right to a dock but they haven’t started unloading as yet. Should be soon because they don’t want these strawberries to lose their freshness. Most places we go to, once we are at the dock we take our bills to receiving and they keep them until we are unloaded, then stamp them and give them back. They told me since these are strawberries I don’t have to do that just go back to the gate once unloaded so they can check the trailer to make sure I’m not taking anything out. That’s good. Saves me time.

Well, it’s been 30 minutes and they haven’t started so guess I’ll lie down for a bit.

7:34 unloading begins. 7:58 done.

Went to truck stop right across the street to await info on next trip. Got one for PA. Just after writing down the info I get another message to call dispatch to discuss live dispatch info. I call and they changed my load to one going right outside Columbus, OH.  From there I will go picked up my sweetheart and have a joyous reunion.  Won’t be long now honey pie.

Good night and God bless.

Annie – Yeah!!  I am packed and ready!  Hope to see you soon!

Day 135 June 11, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Oklahoma, Missiouri, Illinois

Morris, IL, corn, corn and more corn.

Found a pizza place on line within walking distance. Thinking about going there for dinner. My appointment is not until 7:15 in the morning so have some time to relax.

Found Dwight’s Pizza. Now to see if these guys know what they’re doing. Oh, and they have RC cola on tap. Don’t see that very often. Had to have one. They have Diet Rite too but I remember what that taste like so opted for the RC. Now if they only had Moon Pies this may be my new favorite spot. But we will reserve judgment till after the pizza.

Okay, pizza was the best I have had since Rosie’s. Thin, crispy crust, good tomatoe sauce, pepperoni had just a little kick to it. Good stuff.

Very cheesy. I couldn’t finish it so brought two pieces back to the truck for breakfast. Oh, and it’s not Dwight’s Pizza like a guy’s name. Dwight is the name of the town nearby. Apparently I am not in Morris, but Dwight, IL. I stand corrected.

That’s all I got. Excited to see what tomorrow brings and how directly they will point me in the direction of my sweetheart.

Love to all. Good night and God bless.

Annie – So jealous about the pizza!    Would love to have a good slice.  Not going to get it around here.

I did a lot of rearranging and packing today getting ready for my sweetie.   If they send him back to California before he gets me I may cry.  LOL

Well, turning in.   Goodnight y’all.

Day 134 June 10, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Texas, Oklahoma

One day closer to home. Can’t wait.

Only one picture today. You may have seen this before as we were here sometime back. It’s the big Indian that greets you as you come into the Woodshed Travel Center at the Big Cabin exit on I-44 in Oklahoma.  It’s a nice place with lots of parking, a decent restaurant, inexpensive laundry, showers and a fairly large driver’s lounge with a big screen tv.

I had to stop early today due to the government’s determination that I was too tired to drive any further based on the number of hours that I have worked and driven over the past seven days.  However, if I had worked/driven more one week ago I would have been able to work/drive more today. Wow, that’s some government calculations for you.

Love to all. That’s it from your friendly driver in the rolling hills of Oklahoma.

Good night and God bless.

Day 133 June 9, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Arizona, New Mexico, Texas

Shamrock, TX home of the fighting Irish.

Beautiful drive across New Mexico and part of the panhandle of Texas. A little bit of rain in Texas but this part could use a little.

On to Oklahoma in the morning. Going to be a short day as my 70 hour clock has run out so I am driving off of time picked up from eight days ago. Sounds confusing don’t it?  Well it is. It’s a government thing and we all know what they do to common sense and logic.

So, no pictures today but you can review some from the past weeks there are plenty there.

Love to all and God Bless.

Annie -Not much going on here.  Mom had Coumadin check this morning and we were going to go to Lowes but she didn’t feel well so we came home and took a nap.  I am going to have to give up my naps on the truck so taking advantage now.  LOL.

Turning in.   Goodnight y’all

Day 132, June 8, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – California, Arizona

Busy day here today.  We took moms puppies to the groomers but because they didn’t have an updated rabies shot we had to bring them back home.   So, one puppies were home we went to lunch at Panera Bread and went to Joanne Fabrics and bought some red mason jars and Lowes for hooks to hang them and we re-arranged moms peg board and put most of the utensils from her very over crowded drawer in the jars on the wall.   I must say it looks nice.

DG:  An expert job.  Looks lovely. So sorry I wasn’t there to help.

I am on a mission to bring fresh strawberries to Illinois.  Fresh California strawberries.  I’ve been looking for a truck full of chocolate or whipped cream. We could have a feast.

Anyway, here’s the sunset from the rest stop next to Meteor Crator. Evidently Arizona has made a bit thing out of that as they have their own radio station broadcasting all of the amenities available there. Sounds like fun.

The desert has its own type of beauty. Don’t think I would want to live there but glad I got to see it. And will probably see it many more times in the near future and beyond.

Yes I am finally out of California. Nice place if the population was about one tenth of what it is. I can see the attraction though. Just too many others saw it moved there.

Tomorrow it is on through New Mexico, Northern Texas and further, closer to my darling whom I miss so terribly much. I love you sweetie.

Well, like the Arizona sunset I’m going down.  Good night and God bless.

Day 131, June 7, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Utah, California

Well, Greg is sitting at a dock in California and I am sitting on a couch in Kentucky.  Something not right about this.  Hopefully he will be headed back this way today.

DG: On my way sweetie pie. If I can get out of California.  Stopped at a little place that has Diesel for big rigs but no specified parking area. But there’s room for me so I shut her down. Don’t think too many trucks come here anyway. Just outside of Bakersfield. Tomorrow I should be able to get across Arizona and in to New Mexico.

But first, sleep. Hope everyone is doing well. We love you and thank you for following along with us. I feel like we have company on our trip.

Good night and God bless.

Day 130, June 6, 2015 Annie – Ashland, Greg – Utah, Nevada

Busy day today.   Went to Kroger and got stuff to make for dinner.   Chicken is sinking in buttermilk mixture, bread is rising and the pound cake is done.   It is yummy!

DG:  Beautiful sunrise over Fernley, NV. Fuel and rest stop then on to Stockton, CA later.

After Stockton I will be picking up a load in Castroville, CA then to Morris, IL and hopefully Ashland after that to pick up my sweetie.

Annie – Sorry sweetie but there won’t be any chicken left for you I’m afraid.
