7:45, up and almost at ’em.  Coffee first and today’s beverage has a spoon full of butter. Supposed to get the brain revved.  This may take two cups. 

Still working on transferring CDL. What seems obvious to me is that since this is a federally regulated license why not have one license for the country?  But the other obvious conclusion to this is each state wants their pound of flesh in the form of currency. I believe a ruling could still accommodate this precept, just tie the databases so that each state had access to the records and as long as the record is current issue the license from that. 

Called this morning for more information and apparently the records are available from state to state as I was instructed to ask the clerk to check the Florida portal for my finger print and background check as those were just done this past April and should not need to be done so soon, however even though the test was given at the same time that will have to be redone. I’m sure this is where Kentucky will extract their pound. 

8:15 I call the clerk and get a recording that their hours are from 8:00 to 4:00. Let’s see, yep, 8:15 clearly falls within those parameters.  Guess they leave the answering machine on until they are ready to take calls. Bureaucrats!  ARGH!!!  Guess I’ll keep trying. They only give the test on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and I just wanted to see if I need an appointment.  

8:45; no appointment necessary but test is only given between 12:30, clearly after lunch, and 2:30.  They can’t have that many people transferring their CDLs so I understand the limited hours. 

But I will have to retest.

So tomorrow there is a doctor’s appointment, and a new range being delivered. I am staying home to let in the delivery guys. 

What else happened today?  Well, some typing was done and oh, a porch concert.  Enjoy.
