Trying to get our Kentucky driver’s license today was somewhat of an ordeal. Well, not for Annie. All she needed was her social security card and proof of address. Two proofs. I, on the other hand, had to have that plus several forms filled out and faxed to Frankfort and still I have to contact the State Police to get fingered printed and have a background check run. And I may have to take my hazmat test again. More bureaucratic nonsense. I hope people soon get aggravated enough about government to get it off our backs.
So I’m still waiting. Have to make a call tomorrow to set up the fingerprinting and background check and find someone who knows whether or not I have to test again as no one in Frankfort seemed to know. And they pay these people. I don’t get it.
While waiting for the line to go down a bit at the DMV we took the opportunity to have lunch at Ruth’s. No, not my mother in law, but a little sandwich shop that opened in the arcade in September. I think we wrote about it before. But at that time we had not tried their sandwiches. Well we did today and glad we did. We split a Caribbean chicken sandwich. Good. And plenty for two to share.
License business taken care of we waked back to the car which was around the corner and there was another new eatery, but the name escapes me at the moment. The thing I remember is they had milk from grass fed cows that has not been homogenized and low temperature pasteurized which means it is about as close to raw milk as the government will allow sale of for human consumption. The trick is you have to shake it up really good before you drink it because the cream will settle on the top.
Back at the house we got a text from Lindsey to come get her at school. She was in a sports medicine class, trainers, and the kids were being jerks and apparently the instructor is not a pleasant person and she had had enough. We went and picked her up and took her home after stopping at McDonald’s for breakfast. Then home.
Typing was the order of the day. We seem to be picking up more work from Duke. That’s a good thing. We’ll take it.
That’s it for today. Know that we love you. God bless.
