Day 493, June 4, 2016;  Frametown, WV;   Jersey City, NJ

6:30 am.  Good morning West Virginia.

8:30 am.   Stopped in Flatwoods, WV for caffeine (all the rest area had was Pepsi!!).   Luckily this truck stop was across the street from a Walmart so we walked over and got a few things.   Now it’s time to get back on the road.

10:45.  Pulled in to a rest area in Maryland.  Guy comes up to the window and wants to know if we have a fire extinguisher because his truck is on fire.  Greg rushes out to help.  Ever the fireman!

DG:  Wasn’t his truck. Belongs to the fella he works for. He is delivering a boat to Montana.  Minor damage to the engine, but he won’t be going anywhere till its fixed. Just happened to pull in there we did. Coincidence?  I think not.

Cumberland Maryland

6:30 pm.  Made it to a truck stop just 2 miles from our stop.   Can’t Deliver until Monday am so best get comfortable.  It’s raining but can still see Manhattan!

DG: 7:55pm. Still raining. Coming through Jersey it reminded me of the opening scene on the Sopranos. I told Annie we should have the theme song playing as we go through the toll booths. Next thing I know she has found it on iTunes and its playing over the radio. If I had just thought to light a cigar. It was funny.

Annie – A couple photos of NYC from where we are.   So close and yet so far.  There is a bus and train station within a half mile that will take us to Manhattan but it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow.   It would be great to get a slice of pizza!  Real pizza!   They are predicting thunderstorms though.  Hmmm.  Will have to wait and see.

DG:  $1.00/hr to park. We started with 24, but will have to get another 10 when this runs out.

Hope the weather is clear tomorrow.  We may get to go to the city.

But for now it’s time to go to sleepy town. All aboard. See ya tomorrow.  God bless.
