Day 488, May 30, 2016;  Lancaster, TX; Tallulah, LA

3:40 am.   Woken up by thunder, lightening and rain.   Really pouring.  Sounds good on the truck roof.  Back to sleep.

7:30.  Time to get up and do what we did yesterday.   Head to Waco.    Then on to Kennesaw, GA.    Got to get a trailer wash out and fuel.  Then on our way.    Looks like a bright sunny day.   No rain in site.

11 am.  Made it to shipper.  Picked up 42,000 pounds of Starbursts.   That’s a lot of Starbursts.

1 pm.  Stopped to grab some lunch.  It’s great to find a good place with truck parking!   I had smoked chicken and Greg had ribs.   We also got some brisket for sandwiches for supper.   So yummy!

6:30 pm.  Well, that was a close one.   Apparently when we had the emissions thing put on a couple of weeks ago the mechanics didn’t put the cover and steps back on tight enough.   I had noticed a wiggle in the step when I got out of the truck but I guess the rough roads of Texas and Louisiana shook the screws the rest of the way loose.   I went to get out of the truck and almost landed on my backside.   So, stopped for a bit while Greg goes to the shop here at Loves and gets the screws he needs and fixes it.   Thank you Lord for protection!

9:30 pm.  Alright.  That’s it!   I am not getting out of the truck the rest of the night.   We Parked at a Loves truck stop.  Went in for bathroom and ice.   In the line paying for the ice and Greg sets it down to pay and it falls over on my big toe.  Gracious sakes!

DG:  I told her to put some ice on it.

Sorry about the quick publishing, but I was falling asleep while writing that and couldn’t see to do any more. Her toe is fine. She just walked it off.

Okay, that’s about it. God bless all you all.  On the road again.
