4 am. I’m not ready! Oh well. Time to get up and find caffeine. Headed back over to warehouse to get candy to take to Waco. I did get a free Take 5 candy bar yesterday. Yummy! DG: Two bars.
6 am. Good morning from St. Louis , Missouri.
Meramec River
Casconade River. Missouri is gorgeous today.
All kinds of metal sculptures in this yard. Hmmm
3:30 pm. Stopped at The Big Cabin in Oklahoma so Precious could get a giant chicken leg for supper. Greg got catfish and I had chicken tenders.
Gorgeous day in Oklahoma too!
Tulsa Oklahoma
Well, crap. Just outside of Oklahoma City and heard a pop. Looked in side mirror and saw pieces of tire fly out from under the truck. Thankfully we were one mile from a truck stop. Looks like a tire on the trailer blew and the air line came loose from another and is losing air. Called road breakdown and a tire service is on the way. So thankful we were so close to a truck stop!

Looks like we will stay here tonight. Only had about an hour to go before we had to stop anyway. Upside is there is an Indian restaurant next door with great reviews. It’s been forever since I’ve had some curry!!
Saw a beautiful thistle plant on the way to the Indian restaurant.
And a pretty rose bush when we got there.
Got our dinner. We are having chicken curry and chicken tikka masala with jasmine rice and naan. So good. Extra spicy the way we like it.

The tires are all fixed. First guy came and changed the flat tire but couldn’t fix the air leak on the other tire so they had to send a mechanic. Now he is done too. Now we can head out in the morning on time.
10 pm. Turning in. Got about 250 miles to go tomorrow. Goodnight y’all.
DG: Annie is so good at giving all the details I hardly have anything add.
I probably should be adding the life lessons living on the road has taught us, me in particular, but not just yet. Let me think about it.
I was impressed with the tire repair. I asked the guy if he needed me there that I was going to take a shower, thinking this is going to take him an hour at least, and he replied by telling me that he would be done in fifteen minutes. I jokingly said I was going to time him and he insisted that I do that as he had been timed before. I smiled and thought to myself he may be quick with the wrench but fifteen minutes, ah, not quite believing that. You know what? It was more like seven or eight minutes and the tire was on the rim and being inflated. It took him longer to do the paperwork than it did to change the tire. I was telling Annie about it after he left and she suggested that I should have taken a video of it. Now why didn’t I think of that. It was over too quickly. I told him I was really impressed with that and would be super appreciative to have a tire changed that fast if I was on the road with my clock running. Nice fellow. But he couldn’t fix the other problem. For that we needed to have a mechanic.
Back on the phone to road breakdown. Now they could have taken care of this with one call if they had called the TA truck stop just down the road. That’s who they called to come fix the airline and they also do tires. However, KLLM is owned by the same family that owns Southern Tire Mart and there happens to be one of these in Oklahoma City so that’s who was sent to change the tire. Keeping it in the family so to speak.
So the mechanic shows up and he’s not here very long at all and now both issues are resolved and we are ready to roll. After some sleep if course.
So ends another exciting day of life on the road with the Hills. Hope your day was more blessed than ours and may all your days be filled with blessings and God’s favor. And be sure and remember this weekend those brave souls who have everything so that we can enjoy the freedom and liberty we have in this greatest of all countries. Good night.
