9 am. Got to sleep in a bit this morning. Woke up with a trip for us to Connecticut. The guy with our trailer is 36 miles away. So we wait.

10:30 am. Guy with trailer still hasn’t shown up. Greg contacted dispatch and they said the guy was 86 miles away. “What? Is he going the wrong way?” Apparently he is going home for the weekend and didn’t want to stop in Lancaster and drop off the trailer. So now we’re waiting on another trailer. Dispatch said they couldn’t find another one yet.
11:30 am. Greg walked around the lot a while and found another empty. They said it was ok if we take it. So now we get fuel and get to the receiver.
DG: I guess we’re doing time lines now so I will go with the system.
1:15 pm. Arrive at shipper 45 minutes early (imagine this as spoken by Joe Friday on Dragnet). Good thing because I forgot to turn my refer on before leaving the yard and it has to cool to -10 before loading.
2:18 pm. Loading starts.
2:45 pm. Loading complete. Now I have to wait for trailer box to get to 20 degrees before I can get my papers. 10 degrees to go.
Annie: Wow. What a gorgeous driver! He keeps staring at me though.
DG: She gets that from all the drivers.
2:53 pm. Box to 18. Shipper now has to come out and check it. They take pictures. More waiting. Once again, everybody but the driver is on the clock, we are ruled by the clock.
3:15 pm. On our way!
Six Flags Dallas! I wanna go!
DG: But I don’t want to do that.
Stopped in Herh, AR, just west of Memphis. We will be using our bypass around Nashville tomorrow. It adds a few miles but there is generally very little traffic so no creeping for miles. On average it takes us two hours to get through Nashville and the bypass cuts that to 45 minutes.
2:25am. Time for sleep. Good night and God bless.
