Day 457, April 29, 2016;  Brooklyn,IA;  West Unity, OH

8 am.  Woke up to 49 degrees!  Thought spring was here.   It’s been 80’s where we have been.   Time to dig the jackets back out.

Really gray day here in Iowa.

9 am.  We passed the Amana Colonies in middle Iowa.   It was a communal colony from Germany.   They have a really neat story if you want to read about them.

We stopped at a Kwik Mart.  They have a lot of pastry items and good prices.

Time for a potty break. Going across I-80 we get a chance to stop at the worlds largest truck stop.

DG:  Where there’s plenty of parking.  Started to get my DOT physical here but the doc was too busy talking to a friend about his new boat. So I left. Will have to get it done elsewhere.

Annie – 8:30 pm.  Parking for the night at an Ohio Travel Center.  They’re nice for truckers.  Free showers.  Cheap laundry.   We have about 480 miles to go tomorrow to our stop.  Load not due until 8 am Monday so we should be good to go.

Precious must have gotten cold.  She climbed in the pillow case.  She still doesn’t feel good, poor thing.  Her eye is really swollen.  She has tried to bite me several times lately when I go to put drops in her eye.   Not a happy camper.

Going to watch a bit of TV and turn in. Good night y’all.

DG:  It is spring, right?  I think we passed through a time warp and went back to late fall, early winter. It is cold here in northern Ohio. Of course we are only a few miles from Canada and as we all know when it is unseasonably cold in the U.S. it is because of the Canadian jet stream sending cold air south. I think they do that on purpose. Dang Canadians, eh.

Any who, it’s cold, it’s late, I’m tired so guess what?  I am going to wish you all a wonderful day tomorrow and a pleasant good night. God bless America. Love you all.
