4 am. Found a Loves to park at. First one we went to was full but this one will do.
9:30. Happy Easter! Snowed a bit more last night but thankfully not on the roads. Still I think it’s going to be impossible to Easter egg hunt in the grass here. Heading in for caffeine but I don’t think I got my nap finished.
2:30 pm. Back on the road. The snow has melted and it’s a pretty sunny day.
Gregory and Melissa took the kids to the park after hiding eggs. Sounds like they had a great day. Sorry I missed it.
DG: Dust, fog and smoke, we’ve seen it all this trip. Dust in the desert, fog in the mountains and smoke on the prairie. I’ve seen the signs before in Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, “Don’t Drive Into Smoke”, but not until tonight have I experienced need for the warning. Apparently, controlled and some uncontrolled grass fires are common here in the Midwest and just this past week they had some major fires in Kansas, but we missed those. Again, God is watching out for us. Speaking of that, late at night and very early mornings are difficult times to find parking. We pulled into to one of our favorite stops, The Wood Shed at Big Cabin, OK and the place was packed. I drove around behind the first row to see if there might be something on the back row and about the time I got near the end of the row a truck pulled out of a spot on the front row and I was able to pull right through. Then we get to our final stop for the night and there was another pull through right up front close to the facilities. That’s called the favor of God, which I learned about listening to Joel Osteen. He and Rush are about the only sane voices left on the airways.
Okay, it’s late, or early depending on how you look at it and it’s been a long for us so I am turning in.
Hope all are well and everyone had a great Easter being inspired by the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. Love to all. Good night and God bless.
