Day 419: March 22, 2015: Ontario, CA

DG:  Well, not much to share today. After unloading the Jello yesterday we came to the nearest truck stop which is about six blocks away.  I heard the governor of California gave a speech thanking us for completing our heroic journey and bringing the much needed Jello dessert powder to a ravenous populous. Not really. Just trying to make what we do sound more important than it is. Don’t know that anyone would be harmed if they never again had Jello.

Coming into California, as several other states, there is an inspection station that everyone is required to stop at. Mostly, and in our experience every time we have passed through one of these, they just ask you what you are hauling. When I replied “Jello” to the inspectors question he said, “There’s always room for Jello”.  Wonder what he meant by that. Just kidding. I am definitely old enough to remember that commercial. Just thought it curious that a DOT inspector showed a sense of humor.

Loads here. It’s 1:20 PDT, just a few miles down the road. Then heading for Texas.

Good morning and God bless.
