Day 197, August 6, 2015 Virginia, North Carolina

Up at 4 am to head to North Carolina.   The clock has completely reset so We are good to go.   We are headed to Mebane which is about 30 miles from where we used to live.  I wonder if it still has the pharmacy with the soda fountain in the back?   It was such a cute small town when we first moved down there.

DG:  Spending the night just outside of Hickory, NC. We delivered some plastic to a company in Mebane then drove 160+ miles to just east of Ashville to the Baxter plant which we had visited twice before when we were with Trans Am. Didn’t recognize the address but knew right away when we pulled up to the intersection and saw the plant. We also knew that the little truck stop right across the street has killer BBQ so we had to stop in for a sandwich. Yes, that’s on our diet as long as we do not overindulge.

So now we are loaded with 43000 pounds of dialysis solution, saline and liquid nutrition.  All going to PA. Does anyone else see a pattern here?

Here’s a couple of more pictures from the Pioneer Auto Museum in South Dakato. There were too many to include all at once. Annie may have some pictures from today, I don’t know. We drove through a lot of smoke today. Apparently there are a couple of hills around here that have been burning for several days. It also started raining as we were leaving so that will help.

Enjoy the pics. I will entertain questions if you have any. God bless.

The smoke through NC was pretty heavy at times.   We saw signs that said dense smoke ahead and then we asked the guard when we got to our stop.    The air smelled like incense though which was kinda nice for a few minutes but then it was too strong.     Glad we were able to get about an hour away for the night.   Didn’t want to sleep too close to that.  I was able to get a picture.

Today was my 51st birthday and I got the nicest email from Gregory.    Well, on to 52.  Goodnight y’all.
