Up at 4:30. Had to re-weigh before we head out. Weight on the drive axles was off so after sliding tandems forward to take some of the weight off, all is good and we are off. Next stop Cedar Falls, Iowa, hopefully by 3 pm. Temperature this morning is a lovely 13 degrees with a windchill factor of -3. Precious has yet to come out from under the blankets this morning. Can’t say I blame her.
This time we picked up 41,000 pounds of spaghetti sauce. That’s a lot of sauce!
We passed the worlds largest truck stop on Iowa 80. It has 900 truck parking spaces, a museum, shopping, and food. We didn’t get a chance to go in and look around though. We are on a tight time table today and Greg said we couldn’t risk it. He said he was afraid I would get in there and shop around too much and make us late. But I think he knows he would get in there and read every placard in the museum and we would be hours getting out. Either way, it’s probably a good thing we didn’t stop. Hopefully next time.
We dropped off our sauce at the Target distribution center in Iowa. Now its time for a break. We have stopped at Pilot in Clear Lake, Iowa for the night and it looks like Greg’s time has run out so we may have a day off tomorrow. Wont know until the morning. We are both pretty tired so wouldnt mind a day out of the truck to walk around a bit. Preferably somewhere warmer but just about anywhere right now would do.

Really big quarry. These pictures dont show it but it was massive and I think they were digging to China by the looks of it.

I love these kinds of pictures. These farms are so beautiful. Cant wait to see what they look like in spring/summer.
